We had a great time on our trip to Asheville, NC.
We left out of a really small airport and actually had to walk on the tarmac to board the plane.

The air was crisp, the leaves just starting to turn and the town was great. We stayed downtown at hotel Indigo, hiked during the day and hung out downtown at night.
As soon as we got into town, we dropped off our bags, went downtown and hung out with the locals. We were very surprised how laid back, hippieish the town was. Every man had a burly beard. Andrew felt very left out.
Our first full day there we got up and had breakfast at Groves Park Inn. It was delicious and the view was amazing.
Then headed to the Biltmore Estates. All of the reviews from Asheville said the Biltmore was a must see. I was a little skeptical but as soon as we arrived I was sold. It was beautiful and a wonderful piece of history. The whole property was pristine. We took it all in and toured the mansion and the winery.
Friday night we headed back downtown and ate at a local restaurant. There was a drum circle that went on for hours in the park. People from all walks of life sat and played their drums. It was very powerful.
I asked around lots, read trip adviser and saw an advertisement for a haunted comedy tour. It had great reviews so I booked us a seat for Friday night. It was very very cheesy but surprisingly hilarious.

Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast downtown at the Early Girl Eatery. It was delicious! After that we headed to the Blue Ridge Mountain. Let me tell you how much of experienced hikers we are. Last week Andrew was looking at camera bags and was sold on a bag that would be great for hiking because you know we do lots of hiking. Anyway after taking the bag off of his back and retrieving his camera in 2.4 seconds he was sold that this was the camera bag he had to have. Let me remind you of our hiking experience in Costa Rica that consisted of me in a sundress and both of us in flip flops and no water. So this time we drove to the Blue Ridge Mountains and got up there to our first hiking destination and realized we didn't' have any water. So we went to back down and got some water and reattempted our hike. We didn't really have any specific trails and didn't know exactly what we were looking for. We pretty much just stopped if we saw some cars and hiked a couple of trails. We had a great time exploring the mountain and its beautiful scenery. Love love love the mountains and the beautiful trees.
Our last night in town we attempted to go to Tulupo cafe for the third time. There is always a wait and the previous nights we put our name in and decided to go else where after getting tired of waiting. Saturday we stuck it out for three hours and the food was well worth the wait. After that we went and listened to a Blue Grass band at Jack of the Wood.
Our trip was so much fun. We ate wonderful food, drank delicious wine/beer and saw beautiful scenery. It was a great way to end our first year of marriage and the perfect start to year number two.
