Back to Realty

It is going to be tough adjusting to realty. Tomorrow will be the first day that breakfast will not be ready when we wake up, our bed will not automatically be made and no cute towel animals will be awaiting us when we come back from dinner. We had an absolute blast on our vacation. The cruise was more than we could have hoped for. We snorkeled, partied, relaxed and ate to our hearts content. We weren't ready for our vacation to end so we decided to head up to Orlando for the weekend and party with Mickey. Well, we didn't end up seeing Mickey but we did go to Blizzard Beach and a Piston playoff game.
Nassau, Bahamas was our first stop and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Sometimes ports can be overwhelming and a little intimidating all at the same time. We walked around and contemplated renting a scooter (until we realized that they were driving opposite of what we do in the states). We decided to take a boat taxi over to Paradise Island which houses Atlantis. It was breathtaking! I wish we would have done a little more research so we could have utilized all that Atlantis has to offer. Unfortunately you had to be a guest to use the water park or anything else for that matter. After Atlantis we headed back to Nassau and checked out a local beach and of course all of the tourist traps.
Day 2 was Coco Cay, which is a private island that Royal Caribbean owns. It was so beautiful! It was a pure relaxation day. We were going to rent jet skis but the guy accused us of drinking (little did they know Steve was just permeating the smell of alcohol from the night before). The camera died so we only took a couple of pictures.
Day 3 was Key West. We walked around for a bit and went to Sloppy Joes and all of the other Key West attractions. During the afternoon we went on a snorkeling trip. It was an hour trip out to the reef; we ended up seeing sting rays, tarpons, coral and other random fish. After the snorkeling trip the bar opened up and we partied all the way home. We had an hour to spare before we had to be all aboard so we went to an Irish bar. We were having so much fun that we ended up having to run back to the ship. We were one of the last six to make it on!

And what would a vacation be without a hiccup? Steve got his transmission flushed the day that we left and the place didn't put the cap on tight. We thank our lucky stars that we actually made it across alligator alley (think desolute highway with no gas stations or shops) and made it to the cruise before it broke down.
We got off the cruise around 8am, hopped into the truck and started to head to Orlando; Steve happened to look behind us and saw the truck was billowing with smoke. We immeaditly pulled off and realized that the transmission was the problem. So we sat in the Miami ghetto waiting for a tow truck to take us to the full fledge Miami ghetto........lucikly it was a quick fix and Leroy the mechanic got us in and out. Our 3 1/2 hour trip to Orlando turned into a 8 hour trip.

Apparently the tow truck driver and this guy were long lost friends; we were happy that we were able to make this reunion possible!!
